Buys and Partners was founded in 2005, and mainly focus on Conveyancing, bond registrations, divorces, drafting of wills and estate administration.

By entering or making use of this website or Buys & Partners Attorneys (the Attorneys), I acknowledge that the Attorneys may collect personal information from me, for the purpose of executing their mandate.

You are not required to provide any personal information on our website and encourage you to contact us directly. If you make use of the services of Buys & Partners, you might be requested to provide personal information, and by doing so you agree to the processing of your personal information.

By using the services or website of Buys and Partners Attorneys, I further consent to and authorize Buys & Partners (the Attorney) to use my personal information, in the Information sheet and other Information provided by me for the purpose to conclude this transfer/bond or specific instruction to the Attorney.

I acknowledge that I am aware that I may at any time object in writing object to the processing of my personal information in terms of sub section (1) (d) to (f); in the prescribed manner, upon presenting reasonable grounds to my situation or objection.

I am aware that I might be held accountable, should I withhold my consent to use my personable information without reasonable grounds to do so by preventing the Attorney to execute his mandate.

Purpose of collection:

To enable the Attorney to execute his mandate or specific or implied instruction.

This information shall not be shared to any third party by the Attorney except:

• the City Council for the obtaining of a Rates Clearance Certificate, Consent or name change after registration.
• SARS for the obtaining of a Transfer Duty Receipt, Exemption, or any other document necessary to conclude this transaction.
• Any Managing Agent or Body Corporate to obtain a clearance certificate, consent, or any other document necessary to conclude this transaction.
• The Registrar of Deeds
• Any Bank to request Bond Cancellation Figures to cancel an existing bond (if applicable).
• Any Bank to Register my bond (if applicable).
• Any other party to enable the Attorney to execute his mandate.
• Any other party that the Attorneys are compelled by law to provide personal information to.

Records, data or personable information will be stored for a period of 7 years in a “safe” off- site location as prescribed by the Legal Practice council, and in accordance with Section 14 of POPIA, whereafter the documentation will be destroyed by means of shredding or any other acceptable means.

The Attorneys will Process/ collect my personal information in their ordinary course of business.

Sensitive Personal Information will also be dealt with and collected in their ordinary course of business.

The Attorneys will inform me and the information officer of any breach or unlawful access to my personal information by any unauthorized third party.

Any personal information provided to the attorneys should be accurate, and I have a right to update or amend my personal information provided to the attorneys to execute their mandate or instruction.

I have a right to contact the information officer at Buys & Partners to discuss my personal information.

I will be required to sign an additional authorization/consent to Buys & Partners to use or collect my personal information. This authorization/consent will be provided by the attorney and stored on his office file.
